Alternate names: Săcel [Rom], Szacsal [Hun, until 1901], Sitshl [Yid], Izaszacsal [Hun, after 1901], Sicsel, Săcelu. 47°38' N, 24°26' E, 33 miles SE of Sighetu Marmaţiei (Sziget), 6 miles S of Vişeu de Sus (Felsövissó). Jewish population: 210 (in 1877), 666 (in 1920). it is the last locality up the Iza Valley.
