Jews' Garden (Ancient Jewish Cemetery), Cripplegate, City of London:

During an excavation of the area in 1961, seven graves were found in the narrow strip between Well Street and St Giles Churchyard. However, the graves were empty and speculation exists as to whether the remains were actually removed in 1290 during the expulsion of the Jews from England by King Edward I. Further traces of burials were found on the south side of Jewin Street although there was nothing on the north side of the street.

This was, until 1177, the only Jewish burial ground in England.
