UPDATE: For anyone who has family from the Frielendorf area, I need to let you know that the burgermeister there is a wonderful guy. He personally met with me and my daughter, showed us all around. He took us to the cemeteries and old synagogue. He asked me to let anyone with a family background to his towns, know that you are to come back. He apologized for his town's past and wants all to understand that they are welcome. Some of the buildings still have Hebrew on them commemorating who had lived there and who built them. Burgermeister Fey is trying to preserve the history (including the Jewish history). It was a very interesting and hopeful visit.
