BOPPARD: 56154 Rhineland-Palatinate (Gerz)
Boppard is on the Rhine River north of Frankfurt. Next to and contiguous with Boppard is Buchenau, a modern suburb with subdivisions and cul-de-sacs probably from the 1980s. The cemetery is in the woods behind the sports complex, up a hill and across a road, then down an unused road. The site is surrounded by a modern chain link fence. The cemetery is in extremely good condition with about 150 graves dating from 19th century to recently. Some are overgrown, but some are well kept. The cemetery may still be active. Inscriptions have names and dates in Hebrew and/or German. There were no signs of vandalism inside the cemetery; but there a great deal is on the gate.
