- Records of a local Jewish community date back to the 17th century. The cemetery has had to be extended several times and was used during WW2 for storing airplane engines.
- Post WW2 the area of the cemetery area was reduced to that occupied by graves, which was enclosed by a new concrete wall with a small wrought iron gate. The cemetery is well maintained.
