The old cemetery in the town centre is well maintained by the city authorities. There is a memorial in honour of the Jewish soldiers who fell during WW1. Similarly, the newer cemetery is also kept in good order by the city authorities.

Vandalism occurred in 1936, during the Nazi era and again in 1979 and 1984.

2. Aschaffenburg - SCHWEINHEIM cemetery, approx 1 mile along Bischbergstrasse, turn left twice into small side roads. The cemetery is on the right, close by small deciduous wood (general direction).

This cemetery served not only the Jewish community of Aschaffenburg but also those in surrounding villages. The cemetery is surrounded by a solid stone wall and adorned with an iron gate, was repeatedly vandalised during the Nazi era and again in 1985, when more than 40 gravestones were toppled, seriously damaged and daubed with white paint.
