Coat of arms of Zeitlofs Alternate name: Zeitlofs. 50°16' N, 09°40' E, 45 miles ENE of Frankfurt am Main, in Landkreis Bad Kissingen, Lower Franconia, NW Bavaria. Jewish population: 74 (in 1890), 33 (in 1933). Located in the Bavarian Rhön Mountains, not far from the state spa Bad Brueckenau (10 km), Schweinfurt (50 km) and Würzburg (70 km), rural market community of Zeitlofs with its districts is located at the foothills of the Rhoen Mountains, one of the most distinctive volcanic mountains in Central Europe. Jewish history translated from German. Jewish resided in Zeitlofs from 1412 until 1938.  [August 2012]

A memorial plaque for the Jewish community is located on the right side of the former school of the village with the inscription: "In Zeitlofs to 1938 there was a Jewish community, synagogue -- Lower Judengasse first a reminder and a warning."
